Pretty Bathrooms
Everyone Loves a Pretty Bathroom, right? Subway tiled, marble clad, light and airy, dark and dreamy, they come in all moods, shapes, styles. A few months ago, I pinned a picture of a stunning bathroom from Mix and Chic, and it has been posted more than any of my pins by times ten! Everyone LOVES this room, with good reason. Why, I ask myself. Well, for me it is the strategic use of black, in the picture frames, and the striped rug. Then, the softness of the fabulous pink ottoman doesn't hurt either. This is the bathroom in our previous home, and now that I look at it, I am thinking, hmmmm, What if I had placed a black and white striped rug on the floor, and some black and white photographs (sailboats perhaps) in white mats and black frames. Look at the photos of my bathroom and see what a difference a few changes would make! The point is - Pinterest is such a great resource for us to up the ante in our own homes. I love it!
FYI - This bathroom remodel involved removing a linen closet to make a larger shower area tiled in white subway tile. The cabinets are custom pine stained in a soft green stain from Sherwin Williams, tub surround is subway tile, and floor is hexagonal tile. Found the fabulous mercury glass mirrors at World Market. The sconces with glass shades were from Lowes, and silver leafed to add more character. Antique French chair. Wish I had put in a black and white rug, and black frames!
